As leader of TFS’s technology portfolio, you will set strategic vision and direction for all technology and communications initiatives, develop policies, programs, and modernization strategies, and build governance frameworks to ensure long‑term organizational success and innovation.
You will manage and inspire a diverse team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement while leveraging emerging technologies to support emergency services and public safety.
The role oversees the development and execution of long‑term modernization strategies for fire stations, fleet, communications, and digital systems, leading large‑scale capital projects such as facility upgrades, networked systems, and resilient infrastructure, and drives digital transformation of dispatch, incident‑command systems, and data analytics in line with enterprise IT standards.
Responsibilities also include lifecycle planning, procurement, and vendor management for major technology investments, maintaining knowledge of emerging technologies, ensuring compliance with legislation and collective agreements, representing TFS at City Council and public events, and participating in 24/7 emergency operations, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
Key qualifications include senior‑level experience managing technology programs (including radio and communications systems) in large complex organizations, leading strategic planning and digital transformation initiatives, overseeing capital projects and technology portfolios, strong leadership and collaboration skills, knowledge of IT governance, architecture, cybersecurity, and analytical problem‑solving; experience in emergency services is an asset.
