Deliver detailed debriefs at the end of each shift to identify issues and incorporate lessons learned into future activities
Drive Zero Harm objectives by raising risk awareness, mitigating hazards, and fostering a proactive safety culture across the maintenance team and subcontractors.
Support the achievement of sustainability objectives, ensuring maintenance activities align with environmental best practices and Connect Plus Services’ long-term goals.
Support routine vehicle checks, maintain accurate driving records, and manage vehicle/plant defect reporting and rectification in line with CPS procedures.
Support the use of data devices amongst the team to ensure accurate input for reporting and record-keeping.
Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, empowering teams to explore new ideas and solutions to enhance performance.
Identify cost-saving opportunities.
Lead by example to ensure all activities meet safety standards and comply with systems, processes, and procedures.
Ensure all required information is available prior to works commencing, including raising permits where necessary.
Scout defects to determine exact requirements for rectification.
Plan routine/cyclical works through pre-scouting areas before closures.
Participate in the development of the Annual Maintenance plan to ensure it is accurate and achievable.
Ensure sufficient resources are in place to deliver all works activities safely and on time.
Ensure efficient supervision of all work activities, including that of subcontractors.
Raise awareness of issues which may affect the safe operation of the network, reporting these accordingly.
Prepare and deliver daily work briefings to operatives and subcontractors, outlining methodology, hazards, risks, and control measures.

Team leadership and management experience driving performance and productivity.
Strong communication skills.

Experience in the delivery of a highways maintenance operations or similar transferable experience.
