Deputy Head of Security

Description

• Manage two direct reports and oversee delivery across the wider security team.
• Act as the Intelligent Customer for Nuclear Services Security (NSS), holding them accountable for delivery to time, cost, and quality.
• Drive the development of SZC’s security culture and maintain regulated area status for processing Sensitive Nuclear Information.
• Lead regulatory interactions with the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) and ensure compliance with Security Assessment Principles (SyAPs).
• Manage security risks and ensure robust mitigation measures are in place.
• Deputise for the Head of Security and lead the security function when required.
• Own and deliver the Integrated Security Assurance Plan across all SZC sites.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role within a highly regulated industry.
• Excellent leadership and relationship building skills.
• Experience in contract management, risk management, and budget control.
• Desirable: Knowledge of cyber security frameworks and business continuity.
• Proven ability to work with regulators and senior stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills and experience in delivering security functions.
