  • Proactively identify and lead improvements to the team’s stakeholder engagement approach, building on feedback and best practice.
  • Responding to consultations and engaging stakeholders on research and development related policy and regulation.
  • Support with the development of external stakeholder engagement communications, ensuring they are appropriate to the audience, have been reviewed by the necessary internal and external stakeholders, and meet brand requirements.
  • Oversee development and delivery of a stakeholder strategy and communications plan, while maintaining a record of all activity.
  • Work collaboratively across the energy industry, regulators and government to promote positive working relationships that will increase engagement and support of National Energy System Operator Innovation projects.

  • Experience of managing large events, speaking opportunities and briefings.
  • An eye for detail and experience of drafting copy and documentation in line with brand guidelines.
  • The ability to communicate clearly to a range of audiences, written and verbally.
  • Experience of engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, ideally within the energy industry, government or regulators.
  • Experience of planning, delivering, and evaluating communications campaigns.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with internal media, regulation, technical and policy colleagues in a matrix to deliver communications and engagement.
  • The ability to understand and implement changes that will improve stakeholder engagement.
