The Role

Overview

Designs road, municipal, structural & airport projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D, field work.

Tasks

-Prepare design drawings and report figures for functional, preliminary and detail designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software. -Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns. -Apply project management principals and corporate best practices to achieve project quality, schedule and budget objectives. -Supporting projects through planning, design, procurement, and construction work for roadway, municipal, structural and airport related infrastructure assignments. -Building and maintaining relationships with existing and potential clients. -Prepare engineering reports and business proposals. -Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards. -Work with other project team members to the administer roadway construction projects. -Liaison with all discipline team members, sub consultants, clients, and agencies. -Provide Highway design and design guidance to other team members. -Interpret survey information to support preliminary engineering designs, quantity calculations and as-built constructed drawings

What You Bring

-Completion of Civil Engineering Technology Diploma from a recognized technical school or several years of practical experience. -Possess a strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and clients. -Previous experience applying highway engineering design standards in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other software would be an asset. -Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. -Have a sound understanding of Civil engineering principals. -Willingness to travel to support construction projects and field investigations in the mountain parks and Arctic. -3 to 8 years of work experience, preferably in the consulting industry. -Field inspection or survey experience would be considered a strong asset. -Registration with ASTTBC, ASET or similar is preferred. -Solid understanding of survey layout and interpretation of detailed design drawings.
