Engineers in this role will develop and implement digital control systems, create functional requirements and procurement specifications, evaluate instrumentation replacement options, and design mechatronic solutions for pumps, valves, heat exchangers, turbines, and reactors. They will also produce P&IDs, system design descriptions, conduct client meetings and site walkdowns, mentor junior engineers, and assist with station outage activities as needed.
- Design and implement digital control systems (PLC, DCS, touchscreens, network switches).
- Create functional requirements and procurement specifications for instrumentation and control components.
- Produce instrumentation replacement evaluation reports and nuclear modification packages.
- Develop mechatronic control solutions for pumps, valves, heat exchangers, turbines, and reactors.
- Generate P&IDs and system design descriptions.
- Conduct client meetings and site walkdowns to verify satisfaction.
- Mentor junior nuclear instrumentation and controls engineers.
- Support station outage activities as needed.

The position requires a BS or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program with coursework in instrumentation, mechatronics, and process controls. Candidates must have at least five years of process control system design experience, preferably in nuclear power, and be knowledgeable about low/medium voltage distribution, turbine and feedwater control, and DCS for BWR or PWR reactors.
