Environmental Services Director - Silver Springs

Description

The role focuses on creating a safe and enjoyable environment for senior residents, with overall responsibility for maintaining the physical plant, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and grounds. The incumbent will supervise all maintenance and housekeeping personnel.

Key responsibilities include inspecting facilities, ensuring regulatory compliance, assigning tasks, managing bids from contractors, executing a preventative maintenance program, purchasing supplies, preparing emergency procedures, and performing both interior and exterior maintenance. The position also sets standards for housekeeping staff and plans work schedules to guarantee adequate service.

• Inspect facilities and equipment, determine service needs, and perform repairs within normal practice.
• Maintain compliance with local, state, federal, regulatory, and accrediting standards, including MSDS management.
• Assign workers to maintenance, repair, or renovation tasks and obtain bids from external contractors.
• Execute a preventative maintenance program to anticipate problems and avoid costly repairs.
• Purchase building and maintenance supplies, machinery, equipment, and furniture.
• Prepare evacuation and emergency procedures.
• Perform all maintenance functions inside and outside the facility.
• Establish standards and procedures for housekeeping staff and plan work schedules to ensure adequate service.

Requirements

Candidates must have a technical degree from a two‑year college or vocational school, or an equivalent mix of education and experience, along with working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. Minimum two years of supervisory experience is required; experience in hospitality, healthcare, or multi‑family housing is preferred. First‑aid and CPR certification, on‑call availability, and the ability to work weekends and holidays are also required.
