Prepares reports, such as reclassification, paint thickness, zinc thickness, Cement thickness, and Cosmetic Defects.
Responsible for completing clean-up tasks involving picking up, sweeping, and shoveling.
Ensure maintenance of all test and inspection equipment.
Applies objective judgement in identification and classification of nonconformance's and final classification and rework as required.
Review, clarify as necessary and understand all provisions of the labor agreement and administer correctly.
Coordinates pipe finishing operations with Casting, Quality Assurance and Shipping for maximum productivity.
Conduct all discipline in accordance with the company's policy and provide the proper attitude and supervisory help to assist the employee in correcting the deficiencies.
Understand and enforce all work rules and regulations, including safety rules and procedures.
Coordinate necessary safety training for each employee with the Safety Supervisor and provide safe working conditions by maintaining proper housekeeping.
Supervise the dimensional and visual inspection of all pipe produced. Inspect non-conforming product for rework and final disposition.
Coordinates necessary employee safety training with the Safety Supervisor and assures employee safety through safe work procedures, prompt equipment repairs, effective housekeeping and compliance with internal safety practices and OSHA standards.
Generates necessary written and/or verbal reports as designated by the Production Manager or Production Superintendent.
To counsel and discipline employees with performance and/or disciplinary problems.
To assure that all employees have a thorough understanding of the results expected of their job, especially the critical performance areas.
To have a good understanding of the incentive system and to insure all incentive related reports are correct and timely reported.
To instruct and train employees on the specific responsibilities of their job.
Supervises pipe-finishing operation while maintaining established quality standards, minimizing operational costs, and finishing pipe as produced or from work-in-process inventories.
To assign work to employees and establish time schedules that assure timely completion. Coordinate all departmental activities on the shift and inform appropriate employees of relevant work activities. Resolve conflicts as appropriate.
Assess their training needs and establish on-the-job training activities on the procedures and techniques to allow the employee to become proficient as quickly as possible.
Assists in the handling of employee grievances at the first step of the grievance procedure. Consults with the Production Manager, Production Superintendent, and Human Resources Manager on labor relations and disciplinary matters.
Supervise the mechanical property testing of manufactured product to ensure compliance with ISO, industry, and federal regulations.
Assures departmental employees have required materials and supplies, particularly safety equipment.
Monitors usage to assure adequate supply and control costs.
Interacts with Quality Control Supervisors regarding cut-offs and defective pipe and interacts with Maintenance Foremen regarding equipment maintenance and repairs.
Schedules and coordinates manpower requirements to maximize the skills and abilities of available employees and minimize overtime.
Responsible for positioning equipment back in proper place.

One to three years heavy industrial manufacturing experience.
Must be able to recognize defective equipment and appropriately report defects to Supervision.
Must be able to work in both hot and cold environments.
Good verbal and written communication skills required.
