Description

The Electrical Technician Helper supports the electrical team in installing, maintaining, and repairing wiring and components for motorized hurricane protection systems on residential and commercial projects. This entry‑level, hands‑on role emphasizes safety, code compliance, organized job sites, and strong customer service while providing a pathway to a career in the electrical field.

Work is performed on active construction sites, exposing employees to varying noise levels, weather conditions, and confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces. The position requires physical tasks like climbing ladders, lifting up to 70 lb, and working in tight or elevated areas while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.

• Assist electricians with installing wiring and components for storm protection systems.
• Ensure all work meets electrical safety standards and local building codes.
• Transport, organize, and maintain tools, materials, and equipment on job sites.
• Support troubleshooting of motorized and automated hurricane protection systems.
• Keep work areas and tools clean and orderly throughout each project.
• Provide courteous customer service, answering basic installation questions.
• Commit to safety by adhering to OSHA guidelines and company protocols.

Requirements

• Follow verbal and written instructions to install or repair electrical systems in homes and businesses.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and hand/power tools.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude, problem‑solving ability, and attention to detail.
• Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with technicians, supervisors, and customers.
• Manage time efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Physical ability to crawl, kneel, bend, and work in confined spaces, as well as lift and work overhead.
• High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred.
• 0–2 years of electrical, construction, or related hands‑on experience is a plus.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred or willingness to obtain it promptly.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record and ability to operate company vehicles safely.
