SENIOR DESIGN MANAGER – Envelopes

Description

As a Senior Design Manager - Envelopes reporting into the Head of Special Project, working from our Design Studio at the Al Hudaiba Awards office in Dubai, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in shaping the signature design details of the Azizi Opera project.

• Provide support to junior team members while guiding them throughout work processes.
• Manage and delegate responsibilities to other design delivery team members and provide clear direction and instructions.
• Attend meetings with external consultants and authorities when needed.
• Review drawings and ensure compliance with authority design guidelines and regulations and master developers DCR.
• Assist in resolving any design issues as per authorities’ regulations.
• Follow-up, manage, and keep track of project changes and adjustments. liaise with all stake holders.
• Enforce general design procedures during the design process.
• Keep up of latest design requirements, NOCs, sustainability, and environmental requirements, and make team aware of these requirements.
• Assist HOD in identifying issues in workflow, and processes.
• Assist HOD to manage work of external consultants.
• Periodically Review projects design progress with HOD to ensure compliance of project to initially set design direction, including monitoring project schedule and approved budget.
• Liaise directly with the Head of special projects and present design delivery progress, status and weekly/monthly reports.
• Enforce compliance of coordination procedures with Architecture, ID, MEP, and Structural departments within the design team, and take charge in resolving any coordination issues.
• Lead, manage and direct the design delivery team for the external envelopes providing clear guidance, feedback and support.
• Direct and manage the team to modify existing designs, based on management direction.

Requirements

• A minimum of 18 years of high-caliber experience in design and design management, ideally within landmark or culturally significant developments.
• Demonstrated experience leading the design of Opera Houses, Theaters, or Symphonic Halls, or similarly iconic performance venues.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and Rhino, with the ability to translate complex architectural visions into refined deliverables.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Architecture, with a Project Management certification considered a distinguished advantage.
