Description

• Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using hand tools.
• Safely use hand and power tools after training (drills, crimpers, cutters, etc.).
• Lift, position, and fasten objects.
• Prepare, handle, and supply materials and tools for electrical trades.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment.
• Work under immediate supervision following standard instructions and procedures.
• Build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Pull DC and MV wire and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

Mortenson is seeking an Electrical Apprentice I to assist with utility‑scale projects, ensuring safety and compliance with electrical regulations while training under a journey‑level electrician. The role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining energy equipment.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Some construction and/or electrical experience.
• Current driver’s license.
• Ability to read and interpret safety regulations and blueprints.
• Ability to work with power and non‑powered hand tools.
• Willingness to follow instructions and ask clarifying questions.
• Ability to work safely with electrical equipment and knowledge of electrical systems.
• Capacity to handle materials up to 200 lb; lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 lb (with assistance for >50 lb).
• Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, and professional customer service skills.
• Active listening and effective communication skills.
• Ability to work frequently in heat and various weather conditions; frequent crouching, kneeling, squatting, climbing; repetitive hand, arm, leg movement.

Benefits

The position offers a base pay range of $26.39–$52.79 per hour, determined by knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. Visa sponsorship is not available, and candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
