The Assistant Press Operator creates a safe work environment through training and clear communication while assisting in press set‑up and operation. Working closely with a Press Operator, this role ensures maximum press efficiency, high production quality, and that customer quality expectations are consistently met.
Key duties include adhering to safety policies, completing safety orientation and forklift certification, testing print properties, entering data into Quality Windows, and guaranteeing that finished products meet specifications. The position also requires troubleshooting skills, supporting maintenance, interpreting routing sheets, managing raw material identification, operating press control panels, and following MSDS and SOC procedures. Maintaining proper housekeeping, handling solvents, inks, and hazardous waste correctly, and communicating professionally with all personnel are essential responsibilities.
Applicants need a high school diploma or GED, with manufacturing experience preferred, and must demonstrate strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude. They should be comfortable working near moving machinery and forklift traffic, tolerate moderate to high noise levels, and perform physical tasks such as prolonged standing, bending, and occasional lifting up to 35 lb. Proficiency with office equipment and an understanding of safety and environmental protocols are also required.
