Senior Procurement Engineer

This is a hands-on, results-driven procurement role that plays a vital part in ALEC’s structural execution success. You’ll be managing the full procurement lifecycle for structural steel—from detailed reviews and supplier evaluations to negotiations and final contract preparation.

• Review project drawings, specifications, and BOQs for structural steel requirements
• Prepare and issue RFQs to approved suppliers and fabricators
• Coordinate with Estimation, Measurement, and Technical teams for accurate data
• Recommend suitable vendors based on capability, price, and lead time
• Prepare technical and commercial comparison reports and vendor recommendations
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contract conditions
• Clarify and resolve any technical or commercial queries in tender documents
• Analyze supplier quotations for cost, compliance, and delivery
• Ensure all procurement records, approvals, and communications are well-documented
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers for long-term collaboration

We’re seeking a highly capable Structural Steel Procurement Engineer – Senior to take ownership of structural steel procurement activities—from bid stage through to contract award. You will ensure optimal supplier selection, pricing, and delivery strategies for structural steel packages across complex construction projects in the UAE.

• Degree in a relevant discipline, such as Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated experience
• 3–7 years of relevant industry experience
• Good negotiation and communication skills
• Must operate within the ALEC Financial & Legal Delegations of Authority
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
• Strong knowledge of steel grades, fabrication processes, and international standards
• Must be in full compliance with all ALEC Policies & Procedures and Code of Conduct
