Environmental Project Geologist

Description

• Coordinating and performing site assessments, including collecting groundwater, soil, surface water, and soil gas samples.
• Developing technical recommendations for site assessment/remedial activities.
• Preparing work plans, Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) reports, and safety plans.
• Providing design support for small—and large-scale remedial systems to address soil, groundwater, and vapor contamination at sites regulated under CERCLA, RCRA, and state programs.
• Documenting field work and drafting technical reports.
• Assisting with client management.

Requirements

• Experience with multi-media environmental sampling.
• Valid driver's license to operate a vehicle in the U.S.
• Experience with Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments.
• Experience with the TDEC VOAP program.
• Possess or be able to obtain a P.G. certification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (consulting skills preferred).
• Ability to travel, including occasional overnight travel.
• Attention to detail.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER training and certification.
• Must have a strong work ethic.
• 3-5 years of environmental field experience, assessments, sampling, remedial technology installation, and continuation monitoring.
• A bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited college in geology or hydrology is required.
