Design and make software for architecture, engineering, construction, and entertainment industries.
The architect will define and evolve the organization‑wide data platform architecture, establish standards and reusable reference components, and lead architectural governance through ADRs and design reviews. They will design distributed systems—including APIs, schemas, event streams, batch and streaming pipelines—while ensuring reliability, security, performance, and observability with defined SLOs, metrics, tracing and logging. Collaboration with product and platform teams is required to align road‑maps and integrations, and the resulting architecture will be communicated via clear C4 diagrams and executive‑ready narratives.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience and have at least ten years of software‑architect experience in data‑intensive cloud environments. Required expertise includes cloud services, API design, database architecture, big‑data tools, data modeling, and software design principles, as well as strong influencing skills and the ability to convey complex ideas succinctly to diverse stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications include experience in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction industry and deep knowledge of AWS services (EC2, ECS, Lambda, etc.), Snowflake, relational and NoSQL databases, event‑driven streaming platforms such as Kafka or Kinesis, and modern API technologies (REST, gRPC, GraphQL). Additional benefits include Autodesk’s competitive compensation package, a culture that emphasizes diversity, belonging and meaningful impact, and opportunities to work on cutting‑edge AI and knowledge‑graph technologies within a globally collaborative environment.
