HR Generalist

Description

You will proactively assist with performance management, reporting, and tracking of terminations and employee‑relations activities. The role includes drafting and maintaining various employee documents, supporting onboarding and offboarding, guiding employees to self‑service tools, and coordinating exit interviews. You will also ensure accurate time‑and‑attendance tracking, comply with California meal‑and‑rest regulations, support recruiting logistics, conduct data analysis for audits and compensation reviews, and contribute to policy development and training initiatives. Additional duties involve processing lab‑location mail and collaborating on HR projects and process improvements.

• Support performance management, reporting, and termination tracking.
• Draft and maintain employee documents (offer letters, shift differential, certification increase letters).
• Manage onboarding, offboarding, and overall employee lifecycle processes.
• Direct employees to self‑service tools for questions and grievances.
• Partner with managers, payroll, and shared services on employee separations and conduct exit interviews.
• Ensure accurate time and attendance tracking and compliance with California meal and rest period rules.
• Collaborate with managers and payroll to resolve attendance discrepancies.
• Assist Talent Acquisition with first‑level interviews, candidate screening, and recruiting logistics.
• Conduct data analysis for internal audits and compensation reviews.
• Develop HR policies, apply progressive discipline, and lead training for frontline leaders.
• Process mail from lab locations in compliance with company procedures and regulations.
• Contribute to HR projects, process improvements, and policy generation.

In this role you will support the employee lifecycle, deliver a positive employee experience, and partner closely with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, and Operations. Success requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Candidates should hold a BS/BA in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field and have proven experience as an HR Generalist or in HR operations/shared services. Required knowledge includes time‑and‑attendance systems and California break‑compliance, along with strong verbal and written communication, organization, and detail‑orientation. The ability to perform under pressure, proficiency with MS Office and HRIS platforms such as D365 and Ceridian, and willingness to travel up to 15 % are also essential.

• Hold a BS/BA in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience as an HR Generalist or in HR Operations/Shared Services.
• Knowledge of time‑and‑attendance systems and California break‑compliance requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment.
• Proficient in MS Office and HRIS platforms (e.g., D365, Ceridian).
• Willingness to travel up to 15 % of the time.

Benefits

The position is onsite five days a week, Monday through Friday, with a salary range of $72,000 to $82,000 per year.
