Description

In response to strong client demand, AECOM’s programme management advisory and delivery teams are expanding across all grades. The role involves shaping, developing, initiating and delivering client investment and business‑change programmes, covering the full lifecycle from definition to PMO design and implementation.

• Lead team to achieve strategic capability, growth, and commercial targets.
• Deliver complex programme management advisory commissions with multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage commissions to meet quality standards and commercial expectations.
• Apply robust risk identification, evaluation, and mitigation across all commissions.
• Implement AECOM health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Build and maintain strong client and cross‑functional relationships.
• Identify and pursue business development and cross‑selling opportunities.
• Lead proposal development throughout the full bid process.
• Engage, develop, and support direct reports in their career progression.
• Share knowledge and best practices, promoting the team internally and externally.

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering public and private infrastructure programmes (aviation, energy, rail, defence, water, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi‑disciplinary programmes and PMOs.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, commercial acumen and problem‑solving skills.
• Background in management consulting and senior‑level client engagement.
• Track record of winning and retaining clients, cross‑selling services and aligning delivery with commercial goals.
• Experience managing and developing consultancy teams, mentoring junior staff.
• Expertise in PMO governance, cost, schedule, risk and change management.
• Proficiency with PMO and project controls tools (MS Office, Power BI, Aconex, Primavera P6).
• Ability to obtain BPSS and/or SC security clearance; degree in relevant field; NEC qualified or willing to upskill; APM/ChPP accreditation (or working towards); Managing Successful Programmes qualification preferred.
