Product Complexity Reduction: Apply specialized technical knowledge to identify opportunities to reduce the number of parts managed.
Risk Mitigation: Negotiate and obtain a signed mid-form agreement from suppliers to help minimize Acuity's liability exposure. Ensure supplier compliance with requirements mandated by federal, state, and local ordinances regarding energy efficiency and environmental regulations. Compile and maintain a country of origin record for each purchased part.
Supply Base Rationalization: Identify, select, and consolidate sources of supply to best support Acuity Supply Chain strategy and objectives.
Manage Commodity Spend: Develop and communicate sourcing strategy to appropriate personnel within the company. Identify the preferred supplier parts so that new fixtures' BOMs are constructed correctly. Utilize and enforce blanket purchase orders to control supplier selection and price. Expand the use of ERS with suppliers to streamline the receipt and invoice process.
Cost Containment: Identify and develop alternate sources of supply to create competitive tension amongst suppliers. Create and execute an RFP or SSI to negotiate the best price and terms. Establish standard costs for purchased material and track compliance. Research and identify alternate materials or designs of a part to reduce cost or improve availability.
Facilitate Supply to Consume Process: Increase supplier participation in Acuity SLCs and improve supplier compliance with inventory metrics. Help stabilize the production schedule, support the Kanban process, and reduce costs associated with ordering and expediting material.
Service Level Improvement: Measure Supplier performance, including on time and complete delivery of quality products, routinely in an effort to continuously improve service and customer experience.
