Multinational technology‑driven engineering and infrastructure firm serving government and private sectors.
The Track Engineering Design Lead serves as a senior subject‑matter expert within the Track Engineering Practice, providing technical leadership and practice oversight for track design and engineering—including alignment, special trackwork, yards, terminals, and mainline rail systems for freight, commuter rail, and urban transit projects. The role ensures compliance with AREMA, FRA, state DOT, and client‑specific standards while balancing constructability, operations, and lifecycle performance. It operates within the national TE discipline with a strong operational presence on the East Coast and beyond as project needs dictate.
You will lead advanced solution strategies, act as the escalation authority for complex technical and constructability issues, and serve as the senior technical interface with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities. Oversight of project task‑area teams, mentorship of junior staff, and collaboration with company leadership and project managers are key to planning, delivering, and optimizing technical services. Additionally, you will support business development, guide staffing strategy, align internal processes, and maintain strong professional relationships to drive continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate possesses excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, the ability to analyze complex information, and proven teamwork in fast‑paced, matrixed environments. Advanced knowledge of industry practices, standards, and regulations, strong problem‑solving judgment, and proficiency with Microsoft Office are essential. A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline and typically 15+ years of technical consulting experience, including supervisory or technical leadership roles, are required; professional registrations or certifications are preferred.
