The Portfolio Management Lead heads a team of technology professionals who curate and define solutions for business users, providing strategic thought leadership and measurable outcomes across a portfolio of initiatives. This role partners with the business to evaluate project ideas, estimate budgets and resources, prioritize work based on expected value, and monitor progress from initiation through value realization.
Within the Retail Technology organization, the lead develops the Product Owner practice and works closely with engineering, architecture, business process owners, and field teams to modernize legacy systems and deliver intuitive, scalable products that improve workflows and enhance both team member and customer experiences.
Key responsibilities include defining portfolio objectives aligned with corporate goals, creating and maintaining a technology roadmap, overseeing the selection and prioritization of initiatives, and collaborating with stakeholders to drive automation and packaged solutions. The leader balances risk, cost, and resource capacity, manages relationships with business leaders, IT, vendors, and partners, identifies emerging technologies, ensures governance and compliance, and reports performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in a related field, has five or more years of experience in analysis, product ownership, or project delivery, and preferably holds a PMP, CSM, or PRINCE2 certification. They are adept at agile, waterfall, and hybrid delivery methods, excel at stakeholder communication, coaching, change management, and supplier oversight, and are proficient with Microsoft Office, JIRA, MS Project, and collaboration tools such as SharePoint and Teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in CS, MIS, Business Administration, or equivalent
- Five+ years experience as business analyst, product owner, or similar role
- Project Management certification (PMP, CSM, PRINCE2) preferred
- Experience delivering projects using agile, waterfall, and hybrid methods
- Proven ability to identify stakeholders and develop communication plans
- Track record of delivering solutions that meet requirements and provide value
- Coaching experience for project managers on processes and methodologies
- Change management expertise to drive solution adoption
- Supplier management experience ensuring contractual compliance
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, JIRA, MS Project, SharePoint, Teams
- Maintain composure, resilience, and analytical communication
