In this pivotal position you will lead a group of more than 20 mechanical engineers and work closely with multidisciplinary teams and project managers to shape sustainable energy solutions. You will foster a culture of innovation, sustainability, and technical excellence while maintaining high team morale and engagement. The leader will be accountable for the technical quality, staffing, and financial performance of the mechanical energy team.
Key responsibilities include managing staffing levels and resource allocation, mentoring staff to deliver high-quality energy management projects on schedule and within budget, and overseeing projects from proposal development through closeout to ensure client satisfaction. The leader will also drive quality control, risk management, and project audits, and regularly communicate wins and performance updates to leadership.
The successful candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred) and a Professional Engineer (PE) license, with at least 10 years of progressive engineering experience that includes project management and technical leadership. Expertise in mechanical design, energy efficiency, and proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and similar software are required. Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, business practices, engineering regulations, budgeting, and financial oversight is essential, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
