A Defence Sector Project Manager will support large‑scale contracts and projects within the Defence Sector Portfolio, managing day‑to‑day design team activities across all RIBA work stages. Core responsibilities include ownership of project management tasks, programme, risk and change management, and performance measured against standard project parameters.

The Nottingham Real Estate team is expanding and seeks project management professionals to deliver a variety of defence schemes for a Derbyshire‑based client. The aim is to grow defence sector accounts locally, nationally and corporately, requiring highly motivated, technically competent individuals with foundation delivery experience who thrive in collaborative environments.
- Proven track record supporting components of large‑scale defence projects across multiple RIBA work stages (consultant or client side).
- Experience leading design management or post‑contract components on large or small scale projects.
- Background in supporting design teams, technical disciplines or general resource management.
- SC‑level Security Clearance.
- Strong client care and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel with overnight stays as needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and management of Common Data Environments.
- APM Associate or equivalent certification (desirable).
- Foundation‑level project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, APMQ) (desirable).
- Technical degree in engineering, earth sciences or related field (desirable).
- Demonstrable procurement and commercial acumen, especially in public‑sector business cases and framework tenders (desirable).
- Experience with NEC3/4 PSC/ECC contracts, pre‑ and post‑contract (desirable).
