The role involves inspecting production materials, polishing valve bodies to specified surface finishes, using measuring instruments such as profilometers and calipers to verify dimensions, and documenting acceptance or rejection. Technicians operate air‑powered tools, hand tools and lifting equipment, support Kaizen improvement projects, and follow environmental, health, safety and quality policies. They also maintain 6S standards, read shop orders, track productivity through the Dimensions system, and communicate with multiple supporting departments.
The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure and meet expedited orders, and excellent organizational and communication skills. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic computer proficiency, and preferably prior manufacturing or production experience. No supervisory responsibilities are expected.
The job demands frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50‑75 lb, and use of personal protective equipment such as steel‑toe shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection. The work area can be noisy, with temperature variations seasonally.
