Electrical shift technician

Description

The Utilities Technician will work as part of the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team, providing essential utilities support to the client’s operations. This position involves monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing utility systems to ensure reliable performance and compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.

• Operate and maintain site utilities in support of projects and commissioning activities.
• Complete on-site and vendor training as required.
• Accurately complete all documentation in compliance with site and regulatory standards.
• Conduct preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on utility systems.
• Assist in defining and maintaining site safety systems and procedures.
• Perform rounds and readings of utilities systems including:
• Maintain current training certifications, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure all work complies with EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) policies and site rules.
• Deliver assigned engineering tasks in line with good engineering practice, statutory regulations, and corporate standards.
• Review and maintain spare parts inventory requirements.

Shift Pattern

• Strong understanding of EHS standards and commitment to safe working practices.
• Electrical / Instrumentation Senior Trade Certificate, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years’ industrial experience in a similar utilities or maintenance role.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Electrical Engineering degree or diploma – desirable.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Approximately two-thirds day shifts and one-third night shifts.
