Degassing Field Technician

Description

• Perform gas testing.
• Respond to emergency calls 24 hours, 7 days a week if called upon, weekends and holidays.
• Adhere to all safety policies and practices, including but not limited to personal protective gear.
• Help with future job load outs or unloads from previous jobs - Return equipment and PPE back to designated areas.
• Assist in the inspection of equipment, hoses, connections, and the general work area prior to starting any job. Informs the supervisor of deficiencies, which may cause accidents, injuries, or lost productivity.
• General housekeeping - sweep floors, take out trash, and help keep work areas clean and organized.
• Assist in the general maintenance of company equipment, service, grease, etc.
• Wash and clean company equipment - Pressure wash, clean cabs, etc.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Work safely and adhere to all company and customer rules and regulations, including wearing all required PPE.
• Must be capable of passing a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must be capable of setting up equipment for the job, including lifting and carrying hoses that may weigh up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to log field data accurately.
• Ability to work safely in and around heavy machinery in loud, hazardous, and heavy industrial settings.
• Strong communication skills, both internally and externally.
• Must be able to stand, kneel, or crawl.
• Ability to work for extended periods of time within a confined space, in extreme temperature. environments, and at high elevations.
• Understand Degassing/ Vapor Control Basics.
• Must be able to travel for extended periods of time.
• Physically able to handle large tools.
• Must be able to climb on and off the equipment, ascend and descend a ladder.
• TWIC Card.
• Ability to understand and follow specific procedures and directions.
• Ability to perform duties in accordance with training and standard operating procedures.
• 1+ year of industrial experience required.
• The ability to work safely and always adhere to safety standards.
