The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Install and repair control circuits for automatic transfer switches (ATS).
Perform testing, troubleshooting and repairs on protective relays and systems, overhead and underground switching and regulating devices, substation equipment, control systems and communication systems (SCADA - Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) in substations and at other field locations. Required
Conduct high potential testing of aerial lift devices and reinforced fiber glass plastic tools.
Install and repair step voltage regulators.
Install and repair pole mounted capacitors.
Program and repair controllers for vacuum recloser switches (VRS).
Conduct infrared inspections of overhead power lines.
Stand, walk, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach for the duration of the workday
Work with equipment with a manufacturer weight rating of 350lbs

Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and will be required to pass the PST Electrical Technician placement exam. Required
Associate's Degree In Electrical Technology or equivalent
Ability to be approved to wear and use either a full or half-face respirator and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), without facial hair or other conditions that may interfere with the seal, in accordance with OSHA regulations
Have the ability for Bucket Truck Aerial and Ladder Line training and once trained, will be required to perform Storm Emergency restoration (Ladder Line) work, as needed. Required
Will also have a working knowledge of mathematics and be able to learn to perform calculations involving basic trigonometry and vector analysis. Required
Driver's License Required
Have knowledge of, and experience with computer systems, and must be able to use a computer to perform automated testing and prepare spreadsheets and technical reports. Required
High School Diploma/GED and 2 years Relevant technical experience or
Will have a working knowledge of Basic AC and DC electrical power theory and circuit analysis, including 3 phase AC power systems. Required
