As a brand ambassador for Habitat for Humanity, the associate works closely with managers to drive sales and provide an exceptional customer and donation drop‑off experience. Responsibilities include assisting customers, processing donations, loading and unloading merchandise, and performing general store tasks such as stocking, pricing, cleaning, cashiering, and merchandising.
Key duties involve delivering a positive experience for every visitor, engaging in sales conversations, answering customer questions, handling cash transactions, and assisting shoppers with purchases and lifting items up to 50 lb. The associate also supports daily store operations, helps achieve sales targets, displays merchandise to maximize shoppability, and ensures the store and warehouse remain safe, clean, and organized.
The role requires strong customer‑service skills, clear communication, problem‑solving ability, and self‑motivation with good time‑management. Desired experience includes at least two years in retail or customer service, while a high school diploma or GED is mandatory. The associate must act ethically and respectfully, follow all safety protocols, and represent Habitat for Humanity positively.
Physical demands include frequent bending, standing, twisting, reaching, walking, and lifting up to 50 lb, with occasional climbing, stooping, and crawling. The work environment is a retail warehouse that can become hot in summer and chilly in winter; casual, closed‑toed attire is required.
