  • Evaluate qualifications and capabilities of employees to determine developmental activities to increase leadership and business acumen.
  • Leverage rental and fleet management systems to monitor performance and identify operational improvement opportunities.
  • Recommend and participate in selection of FEC professionals assigned to lead efforts.
  • Lead regional performance reviews and analyze KPIs to optimize performance, including fleet utilization, TCO, maintenance turnaround, on-time delivery, and branch profitability.
  • Own regional profit and loss (P&L) performance; develop and implement action plans to improve revenue, margins, fleet utilization, and cost control.
  • Drive implementation of company initiatives including equipment readiness, preventative maintenance, safety compliance, and inventory optimization.
  • Travel regularly throughout assigned region to provide in-person support, oversight, and problem-solving.
  • Facilitate regional expansion of new branches, markets, or jobsite operations, including staff support, fleet planning, and execution.
  • Manage and follow FEC employee progress throughout assignments.
  • Oversee regional teams’ adherence to safety protocols, regulatory requirements (e.g., DOT, OSHA), and internal audit standards.
  • Partner with sales and customer experience teams to retain and grow market share, assess performance, quality service, and team responsiveness to address and achieve customer needs.
  • In collaboration with FEC leadership and local Human Resources, identify workforce planning needs for employee assignments, participate in FEC recruiting, new hire onboarding, and career progression and succession planning activities for sustained staffing pipeline that meets forecasted requirements and results in retention:
  • Oversee and drive operational performance across a multi-branch First Equipment Company (FEC) regional territory, leading teams to provide consistency in service delivery, safety, and profitability.
  • Collaborate with FEC leadership and cross-functional partners (e.g., Finance, Fleet, Safety, Procurement) to align regional performance with broader company goals.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Construction, or related field of study, with minimum 5 years of multi-site leadership in construction equipment, rental services, or related industry, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Experience with driving customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and revenue growth across regions
  • Knowledge of relevant Federal compliance regulations (e.g., DOT, OSHA, EPA) and quality and safety standards
  • Experience leading and implementing continuous improvement for operational changes
  • Leadership and management experience with ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office suite of applications (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint) and equipment management/rental systems (e.g., Wynne Systeme-RentalMan, AssetWorks, or equivalent)
  • Strong business and financial acumen with experience managing budgets, P&Ls statements, and regional forecasting
  • In-depth understanding of fleet operations, equipment lifecycle management, and maintenance planning
  • Advanced professional communication skills, negotiation skills, and ability to lead cross-functional collaboration
