The position reports to no direct supervisor and works closely with a crew of assemblers to ensure products meet engineering drawings, customer specifications, and production deadlines.
Key duties include guiding the assembly line, training junior staff, troubleshooting issues, and continuously improving assembly procedures to maintain high quality and on‑time delivery.
- Build and assemble mechanical components for Switchgear and/or Breaker units according to engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Perform maintenance and proper use of tools.
- Perform in‑process inspections; ensure quality by following standard work instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality.
- Lead team members on all aspects of ship prep.
- Assist in training employees.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis on engineering changes and correct discrepancies.
- Identify and track shortages.
- Assist in processing ship loose and communicate to QA/QC.
- Lead a small team of employees to complete a specific task assigned by lead assembler and/or supervisor.
- Perform final "in process inspections".
- Perform mechanical adjustments for switchgear and/or breakers.
- Promote a safety culture as well as attend all safety meetings.
- Ensure that work areas remain clean and well organized.
- Read and understand spec sheets and follow proper use of hardware by spec requirements.
- Identify part discrepancies and properly write HFDs for corrections.
- Believe and act on the importance of customers for current success and future growth.
- Learn and adhere to all manufacturing policies and practices to ensure compliance with ISO requirements.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, hard hats, bump caps, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety harnesses, and respirators when required.
- Work at heights usually no higher than 20 feet on an elevated structure using proper lift equipment and fall protection equipment.
- Maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling while walking, standing, crouching, or ascending/descending stairs or ladders.
- Bend at the waist, knees, and extend arms and hands in any direction as needed.

Candidates must have at least a high‑school diploma, four years of manufacturing experience, and be proficient with tape‑measure conversions, English communication, and system software such as Oracle, MES, or True View. Safe handling of hand and power tools and the ability to lift up to 50 lb are also required.
The work environment is a temperature‑controlled industrial setting that may involve occasional outdoor tasks, ladder work, and heights up to 20 feet, with mandatory use of PPE and fall‑protection equipment.
- Minimum education level of a High School Diploma or General Education Equivalent; Diploma is preferred.
- 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read a tape measure (including conversions between fractions, decimals, and metric/imperial units).
- Basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of system software (e.g., Oracle, MES, True View) to look up parts and drawings.
- Safely use a variety of hand/power tools.
- Lift up to 50 lb using proper lifting techniques.
- Ability to complete complex engineering changes.
- Advanced knowledge of single and three‑line drawings, including symbols.
- Knowledge of mechanical drawings and designs.
- Demonstrate on‑time delivery and stay focused on goals and responsibilities.
- Self‑starter with ability to take on multiple tasks and drive to succeed.
- Adapt to new ideas, technology, processes or product changes.
