As Grid Analyst, you will be responsible for the management of the commercial contract interface for all ScottishPower Renewables’ (SPR) grid connection agreements for our existing and new (all technology) portfolio, Onshore and Offshore, covering projects in development, construction and operation for UK and Ireland.
Providing reports on assessment and monitoring of market activity of connections and new technologies across UK and Ireland to determine feasibility and viability of optimal solutions for SPR sites, you will prepare financial control submissions for all grid related charging forecasts and revenues to ensure revisions are provided with accuracy and in line with business requirements.
Coordinating databases of all key industry publications and consultations to ensure the grid team are aware of ongoing requirements, you will also be required to provide secretariat and coordination of internal and cross business forums that ensure SPR compliance risks are mitigated, revenue opportunities are realised and development pipeline is optimised.
Responsible for all operator engagement in UK and Ireland to conclude successful connection and service contracts enabling SPR to meet growth targets in connections and revenues, you will prepare proposals to SPR’s Investment Committee, covering a range of technical and commercial parameters which includes grid charging forecasts, due diligence assessment, Securities, Liabilities and BM Reviews that will minimise charging exposure, maximise connection opportunities and to ensure compliance with CUSC and licence obligations.
This role will include undertaking analysis of charging and connections policy to support the management team, and for the preparation of investment committee papers for approval covering a range of grid and regulatory proposals
Managing the Grid Connections Specific Stakeholder Engagement Plan, ensuring alignment with business goals that maximises potential for meeting growth targets and aligns with development pipeline, you will be maintain business connections procedures to ensure growth opportunities are maximised across UK and Ireland across all voltage levels.
Experienced with proven ability to support and develop collaboration with internal departments including Project Delivery, Operations, O&M Services, Commercial Development, Global Energy Management, Policy, Risk & Assurance and Legal in support of grid and regulatory processes, you will have strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills, exceptional financial / analytical skills and commercial acumen.
Educated to Degree standard in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical is preferred but not essential if you can demonstrate knowledge and experience of the grid connection process as other degree disciplines will be considered), you will possess sound knowledge and understanding of the grid regulatory framework, particularly the Connection and Use of System Code (and related codes), a sufficient relevant appreciation of the GB Grid and European Network Codes and an overall understanding of the UK and Ireland regulatory and code governance framework.

Salary from £48,400 with up to 10% Annual Bonus and Single Healthcare
