The Logistics and Warehousing Manager is responsible for overseeing the tool shop, material warehouse, premises and fleet. Through solid people, process and operations management, the role ensures internal customer satisfaction and efficient, safe delivery of materials and equipment.
- Manage daily warehouse and logistics operations, including hiring, training and supervising staff.
- Develop and assign daily task lists, set expectations and ensure orders are filled on time.
- Create and enforce policies and procedures for warehousing, tool shop and logistics activities.
- Train personnel on roles, responsibilities and safety protocols.
- Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, operational logs and safety records.
- Resolve problems related to warehousing, tool shop, fleet and shipping operations.
- Direct tool shop, receiving and shipping functions to meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness goals.
- Collaborate with other business units to satisfy customer requirements and productivity targets.
- Optimize warehouse and site layout for efficient space utilization.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Manage inventory levels to provide optimal availability of materials and tools without excess stock.
- Plan work, assign tasks, evaluate performance and monitor service quality.
- Keep the work environment organized and control documentation of all activities.
- Communicate order status to field teams and shops promptly.
- Oversee inventory receiving, equipment maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Coordinate tool inventory management with job sites and schedule audits.
- Manage job close‑outs, reconcile lost equipment and finalize inventories.
- Inspect equipment for safety and proper operation before shipping to sites.
- Supervise fleet operations, safety programs, maintenance schedules and GPS reporting.
- Handle fleet leases, renewals, purchases, sales, registrations and insurance matters.
- Process insurance claims and coordinate auto‑body repairs.
