Serve as the Subject Matter Expert on mechanical and piping design, ensuring compliance with ASME, API and ASTM codes.
Review, and mark-up contractor and supplier submittals and shop drawings.
Perform as the Regional Design Discipline Lead (RDDL) by collaboration with the Americas Design Discipline Lead (ADDL) to continuously develop and improve standards specifications, templates and technical procedures.
Feasibility Studies: Conduct complex feasibility studies from a technological and organizational perspective and document findings to complete cost-benefit analysis on implementing changes to business processes, products, or business unit structure.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, less experienced team members, and high-value engineering partners.
Provide PE Stamp to submission packages of the mechanical discipline.
Coordinate / Review Pipe Stress Analysis results and pipe support design. Ensure pipe stress analysis results and pipe supports designs are included into the piping deliverables and piping 3D models.
Analyse client RFPs, technical specifications and requirements in terms of mechanical and piping engineering principles and requirements.
Prepare progress reports for the mechanical discipline on assigned projects.
Technical Developments Recommendation: Discuss and recommend more complex or innovative technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/application software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users’ needs.
Coordinate, Supervise and provide detailed mark-ups to designers to prepare 3D models and drawings.
Professional Supervision: Lead and oversee the provision of professional supervision to ensure that there is effective professional supervision that supports practitioners' professional development and embeds reflective practice.
Prepare budgets and schedules for input into proposals.
Perform as a Mechanical Lead for different Oil & Gas projects.
Support onsite construction and commissioning by addressing technical questions and resolving issues in real time.
Prepare / Review mechanical engineering calculations, mechanical specifications, data sheets, requisitions for equipment, materials, and subcontracts.
Ensure technical communication is clear, concise, and well understood by partners across different levels of management (both internal and external clients)
Prepare hydraulic, transient and stress analyses of critical piping systems.
Prepare mechanical and piping system designs, calculations, specifications and reports.
Evaluation and optimization of operating equipment
Communicate and interface regularly with clients as well as vendors and contractors
Engineering Standards Specification: Analyze information, draft engineering standards and specifications, and evaluate the effectiveness of those standards within own engineering discipline to ensure work of the required quality is delivered and to inform engineering work in the organization and/or of its suppliers, contractors, and consultants.
Complete QA/QC reviews and peer reviews completed by others within the mechanical discipline.
Ensures the mechanical deliverables list satisfies the contracted scope of work to be executed.
Communicate the impact of modifications into the projects and escalate concerns regarding schedules or material lead times.
