Lead and manage project tasks related to roadway design projects that incorporate multimodal facilities, traffic calming treatments, urban streets roadway designs and modifications, accessibility improvements, transit network upgrades, drainage assessments and designs, public and private utility coordination, and green infrastructure elements.
Mentor project team, providing technical guidance and skill-based solutions along the way.
Provide technical expertise on projects from the conceptual and preliminary engineering design phase to final design and occasionally beyond final design through construction services.
Prepare technical, cost, and scheduling decisions, ensuring company quality standards (including internal quality control and risk management protocols such as peer reviews), and drive customer service value.
Ensure that production of specifications, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
Collaborate with project managers in various aspects of roadway design, utility infrastructure design and coordination, development of construction documents, and construction support services.
Experience with developing roadway designs in accordance with Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT), New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) or Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) design guidelines and standards.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
10 + years' experience in the design and preparation of construction contract documents for roadways.
Experience in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MiroStation - InRoads/OpenRoads, and AutoTURN.
Proficiency in 3D roadway models, horizontal alignments, profiles, cross sections, superelevation, guardrail, grading, sidewalk/curb ramps, detours/construction signing, construction phasing, quantity takeoffs, and estimates preferred.
Professional Engineering (PE) license.
