

Builds and manages NSW's integrated transport network: roads, rail, ferries, light rail and infrastructure.
In this role you will carry out maintenance and emergency response activities for road incidents on the Hume Highway and other state roads managed by the Hume Motorway Office. You will perform a variety of maintenance and manual‑labour tasks using plant, equipment and hand tools, and you may be involved in road widening, barrier installations, pavement upgrades, overtaking lane construction and heavy patching.
The position is full‑time, based in Gundagai, and operates on a 9‑day fortnight schedule. Travel across the region is required to attend worksites, respond to call‑outs and work night shifts when needed.
We are looking for a team‑player with a keen eye for detail, practical adaptability and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate has experience in road work or civil construction labour, holds a current Construction Industry White Card and an unrestricted NSW driver’s licence, and is willing to undertake any additional licensing or training.
