The Pumping Support Engineer will drive and deliver industry leading customer service and operational excellence in line with the required Yorkshire Water business performance.Demonstrate relentless drive, energy and determination to deliver sustainable solutions to operational risks.
Work closely with Asset planning teams to ensure all available data is used to optimise the performance of the network.
Develop training, coaching and processes that lead to a complete set of data to enable the creation of a business risk in EDA. Clearly champion these risks through the approvals process.
For unfunded risk, develop and implement mitigation options with operational teams.
Actively pursue action owners on action completion.
Create high quality EDA ‘needs’ documents, that present a well justified business case.
Lead the PROAMS meetings, ensuring operational teams provide clear evidence of risks for progression.
Lead and drive excellent standards and behaviours in health and safety, risk management and the control of work activities.
The role has two primary purposes: To identify and deliver mitigation options to operational risks, create high quality business cases for investment and communicate scheme progress to stakeholders, and to understand and control risks across the Pumping network, at an asset, geographical and process level.
Work closely with front line teams to ensure the local funding options are exhausted before progressing through PROAMS.
Maintain and clearly communicate the view of progress for each risk through the investment cycle, communicating this to stakeholders and ensuring that ongoing operational risks are mitigated.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, IT literate.
Understands Health and Safety legislation, policies, and requirements in relation to the sewer network.
Proven ability to prepare successful business cases for investment.

A full valid EU driving licence and use of a car.
Understanding and experience of financial and cost centre management.
Proven planning ability - identifying priorities and actions to assist in delivering results.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft applications, YW telemetry and ICOM systems.
H&S trained - minimum IOSH qualified.
Ability to build and maintain a network of working relationships with internally and external stakeholders.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex issues to others.
Recognised qualification or proven technical experience in relation to Wastewater Operations.
Knowledge of company Quality systems.

Depending on the role, you may also be required to go through the security vetting process for either a Counter Terrorist Check or Security Check clearance.
Demonstrable experience of influencing the performance of operational teams.
Ability to acquire, understand, interpret, and disseminate information, both technical and financial.
Outline understanding of the gravity sewer network and treatment processes.
Expert knowledge of sewerage system assets, common failure modes and solutions.
Evidence of providing exceptional customer service.
