The Director of Space and Occupancy Planning (SPO) leads all aspects of space management, planning, and occupancy for a dedicated account team or Center of Excellence. This role translates business requirements into effective solutions that align with the client’s workplace model and real‑estate strategy, covering space, design, moves, FF&E, and data management across the entire portfolio.
In addition to overseeing immediate and long‑term occupancy and utilization analyses, the SPO Director ensures compliance with service level agreements and key performance indicators, while maintaining strong partnerships with client organizations. The director also drives the development of a resilient SPO delivery organization capable of adapting to fast‑paced, dynamic environments.
Key competencies include strong verbal presentation skills for executive audiences, analytical and strategic problem‑solving abilities, and advanced proficiency with Adobe, Microsoft Office, and CAFM/IWMS platforms such as Serraview. The role requires a collaborative mindset to work with facilities, project management, and client real‑estate leadership, and the ability to coach teams in delivering space‑planning and move‑management solutions.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline such as Architecture, Interior Design, Corporate Real Estate, Facilities Management, or Project/Construction Management, and possess at least seven years of experience in a corporate real‑estate environment.
