EHS Specialist (Construction)

Description

• Inspect the job site regularly and record observations into Procore.
• Conduct safety orientation for all new workers
• Administer safety incentive programs
• Ensure contractor compliance to the project safety plan, including but not limited to, safety submittals, training and equipment inspection, and other documentation
• The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas.
• You will focus on construction field activity, and office time will be limited.
• Consults daily with the IPS Superintendent regarding the coordination of safety activities and High-Risk Work Permits
• Review contractor JSA’s for compliance with client /IPS requirements
• Educates and advises the project team on safety guidelines and policies to ensure compliance with all State, Federal, and Local regulations and client requirements.
• Assist in the review of daily Safe Plan of Action (SPA) documents performed by subcontractors and ensure their quality and communication are suitable for the tasks described
• Assist the Superintendent in managing the IPS SOR program
• You will visit construction sites and will be required to take site safety training and adhere to site safety rules.
• Maintain safety documentation and records on the project.
• Responsible for jobsite safety oversight.
• You will visit Client sites and will be required to adhere to stated safety rules.
• Investigate all incidents and complete all paperwork and reporting required
• Participate in kick-off meetings to ensure contractors are aware of project-specific EHS requirements

Requirements

• Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• You may be assigned to a client for an extended period (1-2 years).
• Must be able to climb ladders as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Construction Safety or Safety Management.
• Must possess the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
• Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, which may include exposure to varying working conditions.
• Must be able to adhere to strict cleanroom gowning protocol.
• Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods.
• 2-5 years of construction safety experience
