As the industry expert in code governance and a key interface with internal and external stakeholders, you will champion new ways of facilitating change and ensure compliance with the code change process at all times. You will also play a key role in delivering Energy Code Reform, a programme led by DESNZ and Ofgem to modernise regulatory frameworks, accelerate the transition to net zero and enhance efficiency across the energy sector.
Key accountabilities include establishing code‑change delivery strategies, ensuring compliance with licence obligations, providing strategic oversight of the Energy Code Reform Programme, horizon‑scanning the changing landscape, facilitating industry forums, leading a high‑performing team, providing code‑change management infrastructure for Ofgem SCRs and industry groups, chairing strategic work groups and driving continuous improvement measured by the Code Administration annual survey.
The ideal candidate has extensive commercial and regulatory experience in the energy sector, deep knowledge of codes and governance frameworks, and a strong technical understanding of strategic challenges shaping electricity. You will demonstrate leadership in Energy Code Reform, excellent influencing and relationship‑building skills at senior level, the ability to shape future direction and drive innovation, proven stakeholder engagement with Ofgem, DESNZ and other bodies, a track record of delivering complex projects, and experience coaching and developing high‑performance teams.
