Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic)

Description

The position follows a Monday‑to‑Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime paid after 40 hours and occasional weekend on‑call duties in special circumstances. Technicians will maintain and repair a variety of customer‑owned and company‑owned heavy equipment and aerial lifts, using both hands‑on skills and digital tools to diagnose and resolve issues.

• Create, assign, and monitor work orders, track service intervals, order parts, and diagnose issues using the T3 platform.
• Practice safe job practices while repairing equipment.
• Utilize laptops and tablets for diagnostics and documentation.
• Perform maintenance and repair on complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems across rental and customer equipment.
• Train lower‑level technicians as needed.
• Complete electronic paperwork and work orders daily.
• Assist with equipment and parts pickup and delivery.
• Travel to customer sites for repairs, maintaining a clean, professional service vehicle.
• Participate in year‑round OEM training.

Requirements

• Apply OSHA knowledge (preferred).
• Own necessary tools for the position.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and tool knowledge.
• Extensive construction equipment expertise, including schematics and diagrams.
• Strong customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.
• High school diploma; trade school certificate preferred.
• Preferred experience in field service, maintenance, and repair.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable record; at least 21 years old for company vehicle.
• Ability to move, stand, stoop, bend freely and lift up to 50 lb.
• May need to be clean‑shaven for certain worksites.
• Must pass a 10‑panel drug screen; safety‑sensitive position.
