Architect Designer

Description

The Project Designer will work closely with clients to translate functional and spatial needs into detailed design documents, lead multidisciplinary teams, and oversee the preparation of drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

• Meet with clients to define functional and spatial requirements and develop design specifications, material selections, and cost estimates.
• Lead and coordinate project team activities to keep schedules on track and budgets controlled.
• Create project layout plans that integrate architectural and engineering components for client approval.
• Produce scale drawings and contract documents for use by building contractors.
• Represent the client during bid solicitation and assist in awarding construction contracts.
• Administer construction contracts and perform periodic on‑site inspections to verify compliance with plans.
• Prepare design studies and project reports.
• Generate project designs and plans using CAD and BIM software.
• Supervise drafting staff in the preparation of drawings and specification documents.
• Address client issues, provide technical guidance, and resolve project problems.
• Conduct final quality‑assurance and buildability reviews of all project documentation.
• Sign and seal project documents prepared under supervision.
• Ensure adherence to site safety requirements throughout construction.
• Interpret written specifications, drawings, and regulatory documents.
• Write clear reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
• Deliver effective presentations and respond to stakeholder inquiries.
• Research and analyze professional journals, industry periodicals, and government regulations.
• Use Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and communication.

Requirements

The role requires a solid foundation in architectural design principles, proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office, as well as strong communication, report writing, and presentation abilities.

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in architecture or a related field, be eligible for licensure in the relevant state, and be prepared to complete required training and testing within the firm’s timeline.

• Understand architectural design theory, building styles, and construction methods.
• Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and other discipline‑specific design software proficiently.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Be eligible to obtain an architectural license in the applicable state(s).
• Complete required licensure training and testing within the firm’s established timeframe.
