Shop Floor Helper

Description

• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
• Build and prepare wooden skids and pallets for shipping
• Assist with material handling, including loading and unloading of trucks
• Package sheet metal products for shipment according to order specifications and quality standards
• Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Support general warehouse and production operations as directed
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to meet daily production goals
• Maintain accurate inventory of raw materials and finished goods

Requirements

We are seeking a motivated Shop Floor Helper for a contract-to-hire position supporting daily warehouse and production operations. The role involves packaging sheet metal for shipment, maintaining inventory, assisting with material handling, and ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work environment. This position offers an excellent entry point into the metals industry, with opportunities for growth into machine operation, shipping coordination, or supervisory roles.

Work Experience

• Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn new skills
• Prior warehouse, manufacturing, or construction experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
• Familiarity with hand and power tools
• 1+ year of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or related environment preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Contract-to-hire position; entry into the Carpentry Union 30 days after conversion
• Must adhere to company attendance and safety policies
