Perform a variety of tasks such as research, testing, problem solution, construction management/administration of transportation projects.
Participate in field visits and inspections as required.
Serve as a representative of the firm at all required meetings, leading client coordination throughout the construction process.
Conduct and document field observations for construction activities performed by contractors for roadway and bridge projects.
Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and related codes and standards.
Ensure construction work conforms to design documents, approved submittals, regional standards, local codes, and best practices while adhering to schedule and budget.
Identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents.
Communicate deficiencies to management or proper personnel.
Coordinate with construction contractors, municipal and private property owners cooperatively to overcome challenges in the client’s best interest.
Monitor construction progress and guide contractors to ensure adherence to project timelines.
Discuss plans, specifications, and work schedules with project managers, engineers, contractors, utility companies, and governmental agencies.
Prepare monthly pay applications and change orders for client presentation.
Assist project management staff in identifying problems and developing viable solutions.
Communicate and enforce construction quality standards.
Follow company safety policies and procedures.
Review contractor submittals for compliance with project specifications.
Assist in resolving construction‑related disputes or claims.

The role requires the employee to reside in the Columbus, OH metro area.
Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred.
Associate’s degree or greater in Construction Management, or equivalent 3+ years of experience in construction/inspection on transportation projects.
Previous ODOT construction inspection/project experience is preferred but not required.
In‑depth understanding of construction principles and concepts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
