We are seeking a Water Labourer for our Utilities Division in Gisborne. In this role you will help maintain a reliable supply of high‑quality water to the community while minimising service disruptions. You will assist with both reactive and scheduled repair and maintenance of water reticulation networks, and receive support to gain relevant water qualifications as you start a career in the industry.
- Install and repair water connections on mains of all sizes, ensuring reliable service delivery.
- Carry out repairs and new installations of service pipes, and fix leaking hydrants to maintain network integrity.
- Repair meter connections, replace faulty meters, and service all valves and hydrants for efficient operation.
- Ensure tasks comply with industry standards and recognised trade practices, prioritising safety and quality.
- Flush and charge water mains to guarantee clean and consistent water supply for the community.

- Hold a full Class 1 driver’s licence (WTR endorsement and plant/equipment experience preferred).
- Experience operating plant and equipment; water or civil/construction industry background advantageous.
- Confident using hand tools and small machinery.
- Self‑motivated and able to work well in a collaborative team.
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices and commitment to uphold them.
