A Gate Attendant/Scale Operator is responsible for accurately and efficiently monitoring and recording waste volumes entering the post‑collection site, as well as collecting appropriate usage fees from customers.
Key duties include determining the content of material entering the facility to bill customers, accepting or rejecting waste loads and suggesting alternatives for special waste, receiving payments and balancing daily receipts, and documenting waste with truck scales and computer systems. Additional tasks involve notifying operations of special loads, processing required paperwork, answering telephone inquiries, maintaining a clean work area, and performing other assigned duties.
Qualified candidates have prior experience handling cash, balancing receipts, and using computers with various software programs.
