We are seeking a Critical Facilities Operating Engineer for the 2nd shift (Tuesday‑Saturday, 2:30 pm‑10:30 pm) to join a world‑class facility team supporting a fast‑growing financial services company. The role involves data‑center maintenance and operations, assisting the Chief Engineer and Lead with technical and administrative tasks, and supervising maintenance personnel.
In this position you will perform rounds, run tests and analyze data to ensure continuous operation of mechanical and electrical systems. You will monitor the data‑center environment, make adjustments to HVAC, refrigeration, electrical and emergency backup equipment, and prevent unplanned outages.
You will also oversee preventive maintenance, manage major repairs, record and analyze equipment readings, and maintain documentation in the CMMS. Developing and implementing SOPs, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring safe handling of hazardous materials are part of the daily responsibilities.
The minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, two years of experience in an electrical trade, HVAC/refrigeration, or related field, and familiarity with emergency backup systems such as generators and UPS. Candidates must be proficient with one‑line drawings, schematics, Microsoft Office, and possess strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Ongoing certification and training are required, and applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
