Mine Costing Engineer

Description

• Utilize sound engineering practices and relevant mine planning software in the development of mine plans, budgets, forecasts, and costing reports
• Prepare and present plans, reports and analyses to all levels of leadership, inside of Mine Technical Services and beyond
• Manage data, perform consistently accurate calculations, and check work completed to fulfill assigned tasks
• Administer existing tracking systems to ensure compliance with plans and budgets
• Review with, present to, and obtain alignment from, all groups affected by the mine plan and cost performance objectives
• Communicate with personnel in the mine’s Geotechnical/Geology, Mine Operations and Mine Maintenance departments, as required, to ensure all pertinent information is reflected in plans and reports

Requirements

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications and XERAS software
• All levels of experience will be considered, with preference given to those candidates with demonstrated knowledge of surface mining operations, budget planning and cost analyses
• Registration or eligibility for registration with APEGA
• Experience working in a team environment and strong interpersonal and speaking skills
• Bachelor’s degree in mining, geological, or civil engineering from an accredited university
