Lead business development and project delivery for Energy & Resources in Quebec.

Tasks

-Lead the implementation of the annual marketing and business development plan for the BC, and help manage marketing expenses. -Increase Stantec’s visibility and revenue by showcasing expertise and innovation at client events. -Represent the BC at conferences, meetings, and industry/community events. -Drive group growth by leading the development and execution of business development strategies, key project pursuits, and sales; empower team members to expand geographic reach and client base. -With the BCOL, connect leadership with employees through frequent interactions and BC-wide meetings to communicate vision, business strategy, and progress on action plans. -Collaborate with the Win Pillar team to drive growth in the Energy & Resources group in the region by supporting marketing strategy, business development, and key project activities. -Inspire, motivate, and empower teams to deliver innovative solutions. -Ensure proper use of Pipeline and maintain up-to-date data, including opportunity forecasts. -Act as a seasoned leader, partner, and advisor for the BC. -Partner with other leaders to foster collaboration on developing projects involving multiple regions and business lines. -Support the full talent management cycle, including career development, employee engagement, succession planning, coaching and mentoring, inclusion and diversity, and leadership skill development within the BC. -Actively participate in Go/No Go reviews, contribute to project pursuit strategies, and support successful project delivery through direct involvement in strategic project development, client and project management. -Contribute to project pursuit strategies and successful project execution. When needed, participate in key project development and problem-solving that may impact client satisfaction or best practices in project management; track win rates and return on investment for each client. -Collaborate with the BCOL to develop, attract, retain, and engage top talent, while supporting the full talent management cycle. -Support the BCOL in team performance related to health and safety throughout the project lifecycle. -With BCOL support, develop, attract, retain, and engage top talent. -Actively participate in projects to build strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle and maintain a personal billability rate of 40%. -Oversee risk management related to projects and business development, including contract reviews, fee proposals, and service offers for major business opportunities, in collaboration with the Business Operating Unit Risk Committee. -Proactively identify business opportunities that enhance Stantec’s reputation for excellence, focusing on talent, quality, innovation, productivity, and new project wins. -Work with sector leaders and account managers to expand the BC’s reach and client base through rigorous marketing, business development, and account management plans. -Inspire, motivate, and empower teams to deliver innovative design solutions during business development. -Support the BCOL in achieving BC goals related to net revenue, gross margin, overhead, and operating income. -Build strong relationships with leaders of other BCs and Business Operating Units (BOUs) to promote collaboration, skill acquisition, work-sharing opportunities, and growth.

What You Bring

-Minimum of 15 years of experience in energy systems design and project engineering within utility, EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction), and/or consulting organizations. -Proven success in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to win mandates and deliver projects on time and within budget. -Strong understanding of the industrial and energy sectors and their key players. -Degree in electrical, structural, civil, or mechanical engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution. -Ability to identify and assess project opportunities aligned with Stantec’s strategic plan. -Excellent business development skills. -Professional Engineer (P.Eng) registered with a Canadian engineering association. -Expertise in various fields related to heavy industrial processes, conventional energy, energy distribution, renewable energy mining, and/or hydroelectricity.
