Support the development of cost estimates, schedules, and design packages for EPC and traditional design-bid-build projects.
Support proposal writing and scope development for transmission line opportunities.
Provide technical support during bidding, procurement, and construction phases.
Cost estimating and construction specifications development
Apply and ensure compliance with industry standards (NESC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE, GO95, RUS, etc.).
Conduct site visits, walkdowns, and construction inspections; provide engineering solutions to resolve field issues.
Work directly with clients, utilities, permitting agencies, and contractors throughout the lifecycle of a project.
Serve as engineering lead or discipline lead on complex transmission projects.
Lead and perform design and analysis of overhead transmission lines, including structure selection, routing, line modeling, and foundation engineering.
Perform and review engineering calculations, design packages, and construction documents for quality assurance.
Interpret survey data, environmental constraints, and utility standards into constructible designs.
Assist with Owner’s Engineer services including vendor review, design QA/QC, and field verification.
Provide mentoring and technical direction to junior engineers, designers, and drafters.

Ability to lead multi-disciplinary design teams and coordinate with protection, civil, and substation groups.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
PLS-CADD models and structure spotting
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Microsoft Office Suite and technical calculation tools (e.g., Mathcad)
Foundation analysis tools such as MFAD, LPILE, or FAD Tools
Sag10, CDEGS, or other power system modeling tools
PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and/or PLS-TOWER
Lightning protection and grounding systems
Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state (or ability to obtain via reciprocity).
AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS
Conductor sag/tension analysis
Working knowledge of NESC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE, and applicable utility standards.
8+ years of progressive experience in transmission engineering.
Familiarity with:
Foundation designs (drilled shaft, direct embed, micropile, grillage)
Prior experience on EPC, design-build, or Owner’s Engineer projects.
8+ years of experience in high-voltage transmission line engineering (69kV–500kV).
Experience interfacing with field crews, resolving construction challenges, and supporting emergency response (storm restoration, wildfire mitigation, etc.).
