Mechanical Construction Estimator

Description

• Build and maintain subcontractor/vendor relationships for competitive pricing
• Develop detailed cost proposals, scope narratives, budgets, and VE options
• Perform takeoffs for HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems using modern estimating tools
• Review plans, specs, RFIs, and addenda to assess scope gaps and reduce risk
• Collaborate with PMs, operations, and preconstruction teams to ensure accuracy and handoff readiness
• Participate in bid reviews, strategy sessions, and client presentations when needed
• Lead mechanical estimates for ground-up, TI, healthcare, industrial, commercial, or mission-critical projects

• Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to juggle multiple bids and deadlines
• Strong project pipeline with stable work year-round
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, spec books, and engineering documents
• 5+ years of mechanical estimating experience (HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal, or related trades)
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, installation methods, and construction sequencing
• Solid communication and the confidence to defend your numbers
