Lead field efforts for planning, collection, and documentation of field and written/tabular data for various restoration tasks.
Specific job tasks include invasive species identification and control (herbicide application, cutting, and mowing), native seeding and planting, prescribed burning, and brush and tree removal. Depending on experience and proficiency, equipment operation and tools to conduct the above tasks may include the use of light and heavyduty trucks and trailers, chainsaws, brush saws, herbicide sprayers, ATVs / UTVs, tractors, skid loaders with various attachments, and various excavators or earth moving equipment.

Works directly with Project Managers and senior restoration staff to ensure projects are tracking on time and on budget with specific consideration to scope changes and budget change orders. At times may communicate directly with clients or agency representatives to ensure project goals and objectives are being met.
Assists with pricing and proposal/bid development for new opportunities.
Working with and leading field crews to carryout tasks related to ecosystem restoration and management on sites ranging from one to 100s of acres.

Pursuing or have obtained Undergraduate or Associates Degree in an environmental discipline.
Ability to obtain state Pesticide Applicators licenses within one month, including applicable categories for herbicide application in natural areas and aquatic environments.

Ability to walk 46 miles per day over rough terrain and lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to travel regularly during the field season.
Previous experience utilizing iPads and familiarity with computers, tablets, and GPS units.

Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions.
Ability to operate and conduct routine preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment and tools that includes light and heavyduty trucks and trailers, chainsaws / brush saws, backpack herbicide sprayers, UTVs / ATVs, and tractors.
ATV / UTV and chainsaw safety training.
Applied knowledge of Ohio River valley/Great Lakes native and invasive species, plant identification, natural areas, and ecology.
Experience understanding and tracking project budgets and scope.
National Wildfire Coordinating Group Wildland Fire Intro (S130 / S190 / L180).
A good driving record and valid state driver's license.
Demonstrating skills and experience with field tasks such as plant identification, invasive species control methods, ecological restoration techniques, erosion and sediment control methods, and wetland and stream restoration.
3 to 5 years of experience in natural areas management techniques including herbicide applications, cutting / mowing, controlled burning, and native planting.
Ability to read and interpret herbicide labels and Safety Data Sheets and apply herbicides following label instructions and safety procedures.
Current commercial pesticide license
Demonstrated experience with crew leadership, mentorship, and effective team communication.
